THEORY OF REPRODUCIBILITY

(Within the Método del Cuadro del Casino – MCC)

I. General Definition

Reproducibility, as a principle of the scientific method, consists of the capacity of a theoretical model to generate equivalent results when applied by different subjects, in different contexts, and under defined conditions.

A reproducible phenomenon does not depend on the individual, but on the method.

In the field of social dances, this property acquires exceptional value, as it allows us to distinguish between:

  • the empirical and the systematic,

  • the intuitive and the formalized,

  • the unrepeatable and the transferable.

II. Reproducibility in the Método del Cuadro del Casino (MCC)

Within the Método del Cuadro del Casino (MCC), reproducibility is defined as the capacity of different performers to reconstruct and execute the same choreographic structure with a high degree of functional and formal correspondence, regardless of their origin, prior experience, or cultural context.

Reproducibility in MCC is not a secondary consequence, but a structural property of the system.

It is verified at five levels:

III. Levels of Reproducibility

1. Structural Level

Capacity to reproduce the complete architecture of the figure:

  • Positions

  • Navigation

  • Conduction

  • Optimization

Here, the structure is not interpreted: it is reconstructed.

2. Navigation Level

Capacity to reproduce choreographic pathways:

  • Defined trajectories

  • Points of inflection

  • Spatial coherence

The choreographic path is copyable and transferable.

3. Choreographic Conduction Level

Capacity to reproduce guiding mechanisms:

  • Consistent mechanical transfer

  • Stable response between partners

  • Independence from subjective interpretation

The conduction signal is reproducible.

4. Optimization Level (Technical Cleanliness)

Capacity to execute efficiently:

  • Elimination of redundancies

  • Reduction of unnecessary variability

  • Functional preservation with lower expenditure

Optimization is the level where reproducibility becomes most visible:
what is efficient reproduces better.

5. External Identification Level

Capacity to recognize the system in other performers:

  • Presence of common patterns

  • Observable technical consistency

  • Identification of a shared choreographic language

If a method is reproducible, it leaves a recognizable trace.

IV. Reproducibility and Authorial Style

Reproducibility in MCC not only validates the system:
it constitutes it as an authorial style.

This occurs for two fundamental reasons:

  1. Objective Technical Differentiation
MCC produces an execution that is technically distinguishable from empirical casino, as well as from its mixed, hybrid, or commercial variants.
This is not a superficial difference of “style,” but a difference in structure, mechanics, and organization of movement.

  2. Reproducible Expansion Capacity
Because it is reproducible, MCC allows the progressive growth of a population of practitioners who share the same technical system.

This implies that:

  • Knowledge does not significantly deform in transmission

  • The structure is preserved across performers

  • The system expands without losing identity

V. Recognizability of the MCC System

As a direct consequence of its reproducibility, MCC technique is recognizable.

In the current state of the field, it is possible to clearly distinguish between:

  • Empirical casino

  • Mixed or hybrid casino

  • Commercial versions

  • MCC technique (Well-Formed Casino Dance)

This recognizability manifests even when:

  • Figures from the original MCC repertoire are executed

  • Elements from the MCC repertoire are combined with external ones

  • New combinations are generated that have not been formally cataloged within the system

In all cases, the presence of MCC technique introduces an identifiable structural coherence.

VI. Conclusion

Reproducibility in MCC is not merely a methodological criterion, but a foundational principle that:

  • Ensures faithful transmission of the system

  • Enables its objective verification

  • Makes its expansion possible without degradation

  • And establishes its condition as a recognizable authorial style

In this sense, reproducibility not only confirms the validity of the method:
it turns it into a formal entity within the field of social dances.
